Hi, my name is Yeephang. Pleased to meet you!
I gained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Credit) from the University of Otago in 2012 and have since gained much experience in private practice and community dentistry. I believe that everyone deserves the best dentistry could offer and I am very fortunate to be able to work with the team at Wainui Dental to make this a reality.
The greatest reward for me is when the appointment ends up with smiles. I love to help – be it to relieve pain or to restore your smile and confidence. I want you to know that I am here for you and would like to make you feel relaxed and your visit as pleasant as possible.
Besides dentistry, I enjoy travel, being in nature, good food, photography, art, reading, singing, DIYs, and being active. I would be very happy if you have recommendations where to go, what to eat, what to see and do! Cheers!
“Do all things with heart and passion” is my motto in life. Since young I have always aspired to be in the healthcare profession while being hands on- and dentistry is the perfect job. Being naturally caring and compassionate, I find great joy in helping to improve the oral health and quality of life of my patients while taking pride in my work. Being here at Wainui Dental is perfect as I am able to produce higher quality dental treatments and achieve great results for my patients.
A little bit about me- I was born in Malaysia and came to New Zealand to pursue my dentistry degree at University of Otago. I fell in love with this beautiful country instantly.
Originally hailing from Scotland, that is where I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Dundee in 2012. I have had the luxury of gaining experience working in both the UK and around New Zealand; and have been based in the Wellington region since 2017. In addition to my experience in a private practice, I have had the humbling experience of providing volunteer dental work in developing countries, including Tanzania, Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Working in the general dental field, and having working with all age groups from all walks of life, gives me a passion and drive to help those in the Wainuiomata community. I aim to make the dental experience as calm and caring as possible. Outside of work, I can be found enjoying NZ’s tramping tracks, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
I have been a dental assistant since 2019 starting with our original team at Naenae Dental Clinic. I discovered my love for dental care after volunteering and observing the position of a dental assistant, I was willing to learn more each day. Everyday there is something new to learn, no two days are the same. I love the variety of work and knowledge that dentistry offers, and the ability to expand my skills gets me excited to come to work each day. What I like the most is being able to help our patients feel comfortable on the dental chair and provide them with a positive dental experience, seeing our patients smile as they leave the dental room makes me very happy. Being a part of the Wainui Dental team is awesome, this team like the Naenae Dental team, offer the latest technology the dental field has to offer, making it easier for us to meet the high standards we set ourselves. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me in my downtime I love to get Zen and relaxing by doing Yoga.
I joined the original team at Naenae Dental Clinic in the early months of 2019. In that time I am proud to say my skills and knowledge base for dentistry has expanded rapidly, being a part of this team has allowed me to broaden my skills and hone in on my new found passion, Digital Dentistry! I love all things digital and get real work satisfaction being able to 3D scan, 3D print models as well as aid in designing whitening trays, mouth guards and the like there off. Being selected to be a part of the brand new clinic in Wainui has really encouraged me to pursue my aspirations for the future, and deepen my knowledge within my chosen field! My passion for working in the medical/dental field grows every day, being able to share this passion with Wainui and it’s community a dream to me.
After spending the last 3 years doing administration duties with a cosmetics company I am excited to be a part of the Wainui Dental team. In my experience I have found a real satisfaction in restoring confidence in our patients. Initially having no experience in the dental field, I found myself applying for this role hoping for the best, as I know the reputation of Dr. Hamid Al-Hassiny and his dental practices. I was very keen to get amongst the industry and work with such a dynamic team, as it is constantly growing. My aim is to always have our patients walking away with a smile on their face. I am so grateful to work in such a great environment and being so well respected and looked after. In my down time I enjoy baking, traveling and most importantly spending time with my loved ones. I look forward to meeting the lovely Wainui community and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Originally starting as a Dental Assistant back in 2017, then moving to support the Front Office Team on the front line, has given me a unique working experience, gaining me a working knowledge of every aspect of the dental practice. Not knowing when I was younger what career I wanted to strive to achieve, I fell into dentistry by accident and what a happy accident it was! On the job I felt a sense of satisfaction being able to spread the importance of oral health and the major effects it has on a person’s self-confidence. What I love most is seeing the difference we can make in our patients lives. Going from them not wanting to leave the house, to smiling more confidently. Working within a team that has a passion for all things digital means that we can provide accurate predictable results every time. Starting up a clinic in Wainuiomata and working as the Team Leader in the Practice has given me an intense feeling of satisfaction as the Wainui Locals are so friendly and welcoming, I look forward to coming to work every day. They say if you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life.
